The Pokémon GO set is the most unusual-looking product on this list, because it is the one crossover set where the artwork breaks from the house style. Cards mix hand-drawn illustration with photorealistic imagery lifted from the mobile game, and the Trainer cards are in-game objects: Lure Modules, PokéStops, Egg Incubators. The three team leaders, Spark, Blanche and Candela, appear as cards in their own right. It is also a small set at 78 cards in the main run and 88 in total, which is why single packs are a more reasonable proposition here than in a 250-card release. Radiant Charizard is the card that drives the set, with Dragonite VSTAR and Mewtwo VSTAR behind it and Melmetal VMAX also in the mix. Released 1 July 2022. RRP is £4.29, and this remains one of the cheaper ways to open something genuinely distinctive.
